PQView® 3.72.4 is available for download. This version includes 250 changes that result in improvements in nearly all components of the PQView application, including the charting engine, database schema, PQView Launcher, PQView Agent, PQView Explorer, the Power Quality Data Manager, and the Power Quality Data Analyzer. Highlights for this release include changes to support for Microsoft® SQL Server® 2012 and a new data Handler for BTECH® Battery Validation Manager. We improved the data handlers for importing from IEEE PQDIF files, IEEE COMTRADE files, Dranetz DDB files, Electro Industries log databases, GridSense CSV files, Qualitrol® QIS databases, SATEC PAS databases, Schneider Electric® ION Enterprise® databases, and Unipower PQ Secure databases.

2012 Asian PQView User Group Meeting

We are pleased to announce that the 2012 Asian PQView User Group Meeting will take place March 28-30 in Chengdu, Sichuan, China.

PQView 3.71.3 Released

PQView® 3.71.3 is available for download. This version has more than 180 changes. It supports default site properties, features a faster and more functional PQView Database Library, offers better integration of PQView Agent and PQDM, and includes new options for copying charts to the Windows Clipboard. We updated the modules used to import measurements from CYMDIST Network and Equipment databases, Dranetz DDB Files, Dranetz ESS/InfoNode servers, ION Enterprise databases, Electro Industries Communicator logs, Qualitrol Q-Wave Information System (QIS) databases, Unipower PQ Secure databases, and EDMI text files. We added new data handlers for importing from General Electric Communicator logs and from the AMR Database used at PEA in Thailand. We also added a window for importing waveforms from Microsoft Wave Sound Format (WAV) Files. We added new derived charts to the PQ Event Roll and Steady-State Trends Window. We updated the rules for compliance with Rapid Voltage Change limits to reflect current Norwegian NVE 1157 regulations. This release includes changes for more than twenty-five companies that use PQView, including many of the requests made by attendees at the 2011 North American and 2011 European PQView Users Group Meetings.

2011 Split User Group Meeting Presentations

The 2011 European PQView Users Group Meeting was held in Split on 3-4 October in Split, Croatia. The meeting was attended by twenty-seven people from Australia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Germany, Norway, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, and the United States. Presentations and photos from the meeting and are available on-line.

Electrotek Concepts and Power Quality Thailand recently hosted a seminar on using PQView for Provincial Electric Authority (PEA) in Bangkok, Thailand. The seminar topics included importing data to PQView from Dranetz Power Xplorer® PX5 meters, importing microprocessor relay data from IEEE COMTRADE files, importing data from Schneider Electric ION Enterprise databases, viewing event data and trend data in PQView, and using PQView for distribution fault location. In conjunction with the seminar, Electrotek completed a new data handler for PQView that allows PEA to import voltage sag event data and data log data from its AMR database system. The AMR database includes 15-minute samples of rms voltage and current, power factor, energy readings (kw-hrs and kvar-hrs), and voltage total harmonic distortion (THD). This data handler will be built into PQView 3.71.0. Photos from the meeting are available on-line.

PQView 3.70.0 Released

PQView 3.70.0 was released. Highlights include a new Traditional Chinese user interface, a faster and expanded PQView Database Library for Third-Party Software Developers, and a new IEEE P1159.2 Module. We updated the data handlers for integrating PQView with the Dranetz InfoNode servers, with IEEE PQDIF and IEEE COMTRADE files, with the SoftSwitching Technologies I-Grid web site, and with Cooper CYMDIST databases. Innovative new charts in the PQView PQ Data Analyzer are available when analyzing trend data and event data.

We are pleased to announce the dates and location of the PQView Users Group 2011 Meeting in Europe.

October 3-5, 2011
Split, Croatia

The meeting will include presentations PQView experts, presentations from PQView users, and hands-on tutorials. The meeting includes an on-site visit to a Split office of HEP OPS, which is the transmission operator for Croatia. The meeting also features a group excursion, which will be a boat tour of the Dalmatian Islands.
