Background

Vancouver Skyline in AutumnPQView® is a Microsoft Windows desktop application for building databases of electric power measurements.  PQView has evolved into a comprehensive database system for centralizing data from many different types of metering systems including power quality monitors, digital fault recorders, microprocessor relays, and SCADA systems.  PQWeb® is a Microsoft Windows server application that enables web browsers to query measurements stored in a PQView database via a corporate intranet or the Internet.  This user group meeting includes both formal presentations and hands-on computer workshop lessons that focus on the past, present, and future developments of both PQView and PQWeb.

The PQView Users Group Meeting will take place at the headquarters building for BC Hydro in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada on 2018 November 1-2.

BC Hydro's office is the same location as the Fall 2018 Meeting of the CEATI Power Quality & Advanced Technologies Interest Group. This meeting will be held 2018 October 29-30.

Travel

The closest airport is Vancouver International Airport (IATA Code: YVR), which is a 30-minute drive from the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver.

A taxi from Vancouver Airport to the Waterfront is about $42 plus tip and will take about 30 to 45 minutes. A faster option is to travel via light rail from Vancouver Airport to the Waterfront in 26 mins via the Canada Line Train. Most of the downtown hotels downtown are a short walk from a Canada Line Station.

Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (IATA Code: SEA) is a 3.5-hour drive and involves an international border crossing.

A bus will depart at 8:30 AM from the Fairmount Hotel at 900 West Georgia Street in Vancouver.

Lunch will be served at BC Hydro's Operations Centre. The bus should to return to the Fairmont Hotel around 2:00 PM.
